Welcome to Writersvoices.com and the Writing Community. We are a resource for writers, editors, agents, publishers and anyone interested in books and writing.
Writersvoices.com is the outgrowth of a live radio show broadcast on KRUU 100.1 FM in Fairfield, Iowa (www.kruufm.com) – Writers’ Voices with Monica and Caroline. KRUU is one of the world’s first open-source, grass roots, solar-powered community radio stations. Writers’ Voices has been there from its inception in October 2006, with mother-daughter host team, Caroline Kilbourn and Monica Hadley.
From the beginning it has been gratifying how readily prospective guests agreed to give us an hour of their time. Many of our guests have a Fairfield connection, but writers, agents and publishers from all over the country have appeared on the show. As the library grew of these in-depth interviews about books, the writing process, and getting published, listeners suggested that they were a valuable resource for other writers and readers. The idea of creating www.writersvoices.com was a natural progression.
In addition to our library of interviews, writersvoices.com features blog postings about our guests, articles on many facets of the writing life, book reviews, and writing tips. We are in the process of indexing and transcribing many of our interviews.
You can join the Writing Community and start your own blog, connect with other writers, promote your work and soon, even form online writers’ groups.
Our future plans include a Research Assistant page where writers can post questions or requests for interview subjects, a comparison chart of Print on Demand publishers, a blog following the process of self-publishing Monica’s novel, online writing workshops, a Marketplace with cool products of interest to writers, and more.
And we will continue to interview writers, both successful and just beginning, to share their knowledge with the writing community.

Monica Hadley is a serial entrepreneur based in Fairfield, Iowa, cofounder of 6 businesses, all still in existence. She has been an avid reader since before kindergarten, as her mother can attest, and has been a member of the same writers’ group for over 15 years. She is the co-host and original producer of Writers’ Voices with Monica and Caroline and the founder of writersvoices.com.
Caroline Kilbourn, Monica’s mother, is a retired high school English teacher living in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. She still teaches private music lessons (guitar, piano and voice). She had a daily interview show on a local commercial station beginning when Monica was in high school, and still has a weekly interview show at KAYP-fm in Burlington, Iowa. Caroline is the co-host of Writers’ Voices.
Chamaigne Montana of Fairfield, Iowa is best known locally as a singer. She has been singing professionally off and on for 17 years, in Austin, Seattle, Fairfield, and Mt. Pleasant Iowa. She is the show producer and frequent co-host of Writers’ Voices, and the content manager for www.writersvoices.com. Her responsibilities include booking the guests, promoting the show, and preparing and uploading the recordings.
