Some time back, I saw a Facebook post from an old friend - the kind of friend for whom I am grudgingly grateful to Facebook for providing a way to sort of keep in touch. She had written “JUST GOT MY COPY OF HER SECOND BOOK..I’M READY TO READ! anybody else???” That piqued my interest – and when I saw that the book she was referring to, “Wishing on Willows” was by up-and-coming Iowa author Katie Ganshert, I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I sent Katie an invitation to Writers’ Voices and she responded with her book. I later found out that Katie’s father was my friend’s high school buddy.
Katie writes contemporary Christian romance, but her story-telling and clear writing style transcend the somewhat narrow bounds of that genre. “Wishing on Willows” is her second published book, and in this engaging interview you will learn how a brand new writer learns how the publishing world works.
